Stephen Hammond serves as the lead pastor of Mosaic. Stephen and his wife, LaNette, began the church in their living room with a handful of other faithful and devoted friends. They have been loving, serving and leading us since that time until now. Stephen’s leadership responsibilities for Mosaic include leadership development of our elders and lead team; overseeing our missional communities; casting vision to our volunteer staff; teaching the Scriptures; connecting to other Kingdom minded leaders in the city; and serving our global staff teams. His strengths (Gallup Strengths Finders) include Communication, Command, Activator, Futuristic and Belief. His Myers Briggs personality profile is ENFJ. His spiritual gifts include Apostle, Giving, Pastor/Teaching, Shepherd, Evangelist and Leadership.
Stephen has been faithfully married to LaNette for 21 years. They have 3 amazing kids, Harrison (Ranger College student), Madison (11th grader at AHS) and Bryson (8th grader at AHS). They also have a few pets -Elvis (the Bearded Dragon), Penny (the GoldenDoodle) and Bella (the Havanese dog) round out the Hammond tribe.
Stephen and his family have made North Arlington home since 1980. He served 2 other churches (Grace Baptist and Grace Community) before starting Mosaic. He serves as a Fellowship of Christian Athletes chaplain and communicator. He is on a variety of boards that help make our city a better place for life and living. And he serves church planters world wide through the Square One Church Planting network that he started. Stephen has become good friends with many leaders in our area (from many different backgrounds, faiths, political viewpoints and demographics). His heart is to see the Dream City of Arlington realize the Kingdom of God in real and tangible ways.
Stephen currently is serving as a co-vocational pastor, ministering regularly to the family of God at Mosaic, while also serving as a part-time chauffeur and part time DJ
As a missionary to our city you will find Stephen mentoring families and student-athletes through coaching baseball (North Arlington Little League, Arlington Diamondbacks or Arlington High School top his coaching lists). For leisure you may find Stephen enjoying an evening by the fire pit with family & friends, playing Texas Hold-Em, listening to live jazz (Scat Lounge), watching movies or playing games with the family, or reading.
If you need to be encouraged, empowered and challenged to live the set apart and sent out life that God desires for you, then touch base with our pastor. He would love to serve you and help you get connected to Christ, His Community and His Mission.
